What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is all about providing enjoyment, relaxation and distraction. It includes things like watching movies, television or series, listening to music, playing musical instruments, reading books and poetry, participating in sports or games and appreciating visual art.

Entertaiment can be a source of amusement, and it also stimulates the brain to realease seratonin and dopamine. It is interesting to note that entertainment often hits on topics the human mind was evolved to react deeply to in order to understand and function in the social world. Backstabbing, murders and other social themes are all examples of this. The word is derived from the Medieval Latin intertenere, which is formed by the prefix inter meaning “inside” and the suffix tenere meaning to hold.
